Have a Healthy Green Home with lots of plants.... yjeu are more important than you think	Many plant varieties absorb ambient toxins and of course convert CO2 into O2. Almost all plants remove some toxins but plants such as the Gerber daisy, Peace lily, Bamboo palm and Spider plant andf many many others can remove many of toxins from the air in your home. After a two-year study, NASA and the Associated Landscape Contractors of America found that 15-20 of these detoxifying plants in an 170 square metre home can purify the air completely. Keeping Pets - Don’t!

Don't keep "pets". The concept of an animal existing solely for human gratification is sad for both species.	Whilst millions starve or survive on a meager diet everyday, the West lavishes millions of tones of protein on it’s “pets”. This is sick. The few exceptions mentioned are not exhaustive but in general, the concept of “owning” a defenseless animal simply to satisfy some personal gratification is unacceptable in itself. Buying the apparent "love and fidelity" of the animal woth bribes of food and warmth is even more dysfunctional. In addition, domestic cats are amongst the most destructive "pets". attacking small wild birds and rodents.	What: Unless you are a farmer, a blind person or a lonely old lady (or man), you have no genuine reason to have a “pet”. The concept of keeping “pets” is as abhorrent as that of buying slaves. What on earth makes you think you have the right to keep an animal as a simple source of entertainment or comfort. Human arrogance at it's height. How: Just don'y have a pet, try human relationships instead.	Green: Easy:

Stop Junk Mail coming to your home

Tip 303	Why do it?	Do What? and How?	Is it Easy? Is it Green?
Stop junk mailing - tell them to stop and send it back to them. Start sending it back tomorrow, costs nothing, and saves trees, paper, energy and CO2!	Junk mail consumes millions of trees every year and creates millions of tonnes of CO2. All utility companies are very very gyilty of this junk mailing, phone companies being the worst, followed by credit cards, etc. Time to turn the tables on them!	What: Junk mail, for what, just to bin it. Stop it arriving and stop them sending it. How: This needs mass action, but nothing wrong with YOU starting now. Instead of binning junk mail, just cross out your name and address, write "Return to Sender" and stick it in any letter box...... NO stamp is needed. Do this every day on your way to work, get a couple of million other people to do it and hey presto the tree killing, CO2 producing "junk mailers" become the "junk-mailed"! Nothing will stop this practice unless this type of action happens. Nothing focuses the mind of the "junk mailer" like several tonnes of returned mail every day!	Green: Easy:

If you do Christmas then buy a real tree and plant it afterwards

If you do Christmas and buy a Christmas Tree (and why not!) then buy a real living tree in a pot.	Because trees absorb Carbon dioxide and are a habitat for birds, insects, wildlife and are beautiful. Plastic trees use petrochemicals and energy to manufacture, and are ugly.	What: Buy a real tree, you can keep it for several years or in the worst case you can plant it. How: Just ignore the plastic ones and the dead ones and go for the chriostmas trees in pots. Look for roots in teh bottom of the pot to make sure its alive and not a dirty scam!	Green: Easy:
